Thank you to the many teachers and educators for your interest in the Music Tech Lab at Central Park School. The TI:ME and MENC Convention was really informative and exciting.

At Thursday's General Session, Marvin Hamlisch was the featured speaker. He also played some of his famous compositions on the piano. The Dallas Brass had an exciting performance following Mr. Hamlisch.

Ms. Garrett talked to Steve Oppenheimer and Jeff Donnenworth of Electronic Musician Magazine. She also visited various vendors, such as Jim Evans at BandFolio.com, Tim Eckles at MusicPlayground.com, Bruce Pearson, author of the Standard of Excellence Band Method (Kjos), and vendors from Sibelius Music and Alfred Publishing. Other music industry and technology leaders that Ms. Garrett talked with were Steven Estrella (StevenEstrella.com), Scott Watson from Temple University, Kim Walls of Auburn University, Andrew and Karen Surmani and E.L.Lancaster from Alfred Publishing, Tom Rudolph, Ken Johnson, Bill Purse, G. David Peters and Jodie Varner of ECS, and many others. Ms. Garrett also saw some of her friends that are music teachers ....several band directors including J. Merriweather of Tennessee, Dale Misenhelter, Band Director at University of Western Montana and general music teacher Rhonda Tucker from Alabama, who has a new Orff book "Words to Play By", published by Warner Bros. Publications.
